CALLING FOR ENTRIES!!
Calling for leading ladies in Victoria for the
2008 Women of Achievement Award!
Calling all women in Victoria who have the ability to take risks, are multi-talented, are loving, inspirational and make a difference in your community, often without seeking recognition.
If you know such a woman, whether she is your friend, mother, colleague or lover, then you might consider nominating her for the BrainLink Women of Achievement Award.
Brainlink is a not for profit health service organisation helping people who are affected by an acquired brain injury. For the past ten years this charitable group has acknowledged many remarkable women in Victoria and held an Award ceremony in their honour.
Sharon Strugnell, Chief Executive Officer of BrainLink says, “Over the years we have met mothers, inventors, healers, farmers, adventurers, artists and scientists just to name a few. All of them are interesting and they deserve to be recognised”.
To be eligible for the BrainLink Women of Achievement Award nominations need to be submitted by August 22, 2008 by family, friends, colleagues or peers; finalists will be interviewed by a panel of specialists; and they need to be prepared to take a seat alongside other inspirational women in Victoria who make a visible difference. Nomination details are now available, with advertisements in The Age, end of July.
The winner will be announced and presented at a gala fundraising luncheon at the Park Hyatt on October 15, 2008.
The criteria are as follows:
Is she multi-dimensional? She can demonstrate significant achievement in multiple aspects of her life. She will have developed strong talents across many areas encompassing business, community, family and friends. She will have strength, warmth, humility, and will communicate well.
Commitment and achievement – She sees a project through to the end by achieving goals and sometimes surpassing them. She may have faced difficulties or obstacles which could be through work or her personal life.
Contribution to the Community – she has made a significant contribution in Victoria, or nationally. Commercial consequences may result from her endeavours, but would not have been the main motivation at the time.
Creativity and innovation – she is doing and achieving something different and it’s because she wants to make a difference. There is innovation in her approach to life.
Mentor others for guidance and inspiration. She makes a contribution to others' well-being and leadership development in a professional sense or in her community and home life.
This lady from the country or the city is a woman who has achieved something new and is most likely to have taken risks because of her drive to make a difference.
If you know such a woman and can tick “yes” next to all the boxes of the above, then please let us know so we can acknowledge and include her in the ranks of being special in the BrainLink Women of Achievement Award.
See Mercury Executive Recruitment for the online nomination form, or call Karen O'Brien or Susan Middlemiss at Mercury on 03 9645 5500.
Nominations are accepted from all over Victoria.
