BrainLink's 2007 Annual Appeal
BrainLink is an organisation that supports individuals and families who have been affected by brain injuries and neurological disorders. A strong focus of BrainLink is to reduce the impact that brain disorders have on people's quality of life. We organise information seminars; and respite opportunities for families, such as one day support activities or overnight retreats for both carers and sufferers, to show that enjoyment of life can still be had despite the hardships.
We see the challenges faced by our clients - the daily struggles of coping with an injury, and the life-long responsibilities of caring - and have tailored our services to relieve a little stress and lessen their isolation.
In order to continue these vital services and research, BrainLink needs your help.
Brain disorders affect all of us at one time or another whether it be someone we know of, or a person very close to us. Almost all of us can name a family member, friend, colleague, acquaintance, or connection that has been touched by some kind of brain injury, whether it be a stroke; aneurysm; hypoxic brain damage from a heart attack, drug overdose or near-drowning; car accident or other head trauma; brain tumour or a progressive neurological disease like multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, muscular dystrophy, Huntington's disease or motor neurone disease.
Please consider BrainLink when choosing to donate, because:
- $20 will cover the cost of sending an information pack to a family - BrainLink sends over 600 kits a year!
- $50 will subsidise a carer to attend an information & support course
- $150 will subsidise overnight respite accommodation for a carer and their loved one on one of our retreats
- $500 will assist BrainLink to run a one-day information seminar
- $1000 will subsidise a four week support course
- $5000 will sponsor 5 carers on our 3 day respite retreat
Our Family Services actually run about 10 Information and Respite Retreats a year, so it is easy to see how much your support is needed. There are many more families in the community who would benefit from BrainLink family services, and we urge you to consider the foundation when next you choose to make a donation.
I urge you to complete the coupon now and return it to us today; or phone 1800 677 579. And remember, any donation of $2 and over given to BrainLink is tax deductible.
Please assist us to “reduce incidence and impact of acquired brain disorders in
our community
”. It will be a great encouragement in our work to know that
you are standing with us.
Yours Sincerely,
Sharon Strugnell
Chief Executive Officer
