LifeMoves Peer Support Program

 There are two different streams of LifeMoves programs:

For people living with an ABI:

This LifeMoves program is an 8- week peer support program for people living with an acquired brain injury and/or degenerative brain condition. It is an opportunity for group members to discuss the challenges they are facing, and share advice to help overcome those challenges. 

Every LifeMoves  8 week program is hosted in a different suburb/region at a time to allow for the demand of such a unique program around Victoria.  Successful programs have been run in Blackburn, Croydon, Geelong, Sunshine and many more.

FACTS:

  • Over 350 persons living with an acquired brain injury/disorder have completed the program
  • Many participants become volunteers to help with future programs
  • All facilitators of the LifeMoves programs have participated in a past programs and have completed facilitation courses
  • BrainLink provides structured training for for peer support facilitators and peers
  • Anyone can refer to register for this program (Family, GP or self referral etc)

For Carers of people living with an ABI/ABD:

We know that there are everyday issues that Carers deal with, therefore this peer support stream runs for 6 weeks and allows for flexibility between caring schedules and medical appointments.  Currently this is a new program and is running in Blackburn, but has so far been very successful.
