Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

TBI can result from a blow to the head or sudden forceful movement/stopping. It is important to note that the skull does not have to be fractured for traumatic brain injury to occur, nor does the person have to lose consciousness (they may be conscious but vague or disorientated).

About 70% of TBI is related to Road Trauma such as motor vehicle accidents and pedestrian and bicycle accidents. The remaining 30% result from incidents such as falls and assaults.
