National Carers Week is an important opportunity to recognise, celebrate and support the invaluable contributions of unpaid carers across Victoria. This year, BrainLink was proud to participate in a number of events that highlighted the vital role carers play in our communities and provided opportunities for connection, information sharing and recognition.

These events reinforce our commitment to supporting carers and raising awareness of the important role they play. The first was a special afternoon tea hosted on behalf of the Minister for Carers, the Hon. Luba Grigorovitch MP, at the Investment Centre in Melbourne. The event brought together carers, carer support organisations and government representatives to acknowledge the dedication and contribution of carers while providing an opportunity to discuss the issues and priorities that matter most to them.
BrainLink was also represented at Carers Victoria's community event in Cranbourne, held at the Amstel Club. The event welcomed local carers for a morning of connection, wellbeing activities and access to information about services and supports available in their community. Carers enjoyed activities including chair yoga, networking opportunities and time to speak directly with organisations supporting carers and the people they care for. BrainLink staff were pleased to connect with carers, share information about our programs and hear firsthand about the experiences and challenges faced by carers in the region.
More than 120 carers attended a special buffet lunch at The Langham Melbourne, creating a wonderful opportunity for carers to take a well-deserved break, connect with others who understand their experiences, and be recognised for the remarkable support they provide every day.
The success of these events highlights the importance of creating opportunities for carers to come together, access information, and feel valued for the significant role they play. BrainLink remains committed to supporting carers throughout the year and advocating for greater recognition of the essential contribution they make to the lives of the people they support and to the broader community.
